Quick answer

Nutley, NJ residents are nearest to Laser Eraser in Paramus at 193 NJ-17, Suite C, Bergen County — typically around twenty-five minutes north on the Garden State Parkway under normal traffic. Sessions are performed by a board-certified physician using the PicoWay® picosecond laser, and complete removal is sold as a single flat package quoted free at consultation.

Nutley to Our Paramus Office

The Garden State Parkway clips the western edge of Nutley, which makes this one of the easier trips in Essex County. Head north, exit onto Route 17, and the office is on the highway itself. Depending on where in town you start and how the road is moving, plan on typically around twenty-two to twenty-eight minutes under normal traffic.

From Franklin Avenue and the centre of town the Parkway is a couple of minutes west. From the Kingsland Street corridor and the eastern side of Nutley near the Passaic River, Route 21 northbound to Route 3 and then across to Route 17 is a reasonable alternative, particularly in the late afternoon. Either way there is free parking waiting in our own lot, which is not something you can take for granted in a town where street parking around the shops fills up fast.

Nutley has no rail station of its own, so essentially everyone drives — one more reason the location on Route 17 with a dedicated lot tends to suit patients here. Tuesday evening and Saturday appointments are available if a midday slot does not work.

  • Paramus office: 193 NJ-17, Suite C, Paramus, NJ 07652 — (201) 743-3737
  • Parkway north to Route 17 from the western side of Nutley
  • Route 21 to Route 3 to Route 17 as an alternate from the river side
  • Free lot at the office, no meters and no garage hunting

Why Physician-Administered Matters Here

Laser tattoo removal is offered in a lot of places that are not medical practices — salons, spas, franchise storefronts — and in most of them the operator is a technician working from a manufacturer's chart. Laser Eraser is physician-led and doctor-administered. It was founded by three board-certified physicians — Dr. Alvaro Alban, Dr. Len Hobson, and Dr. Dominic Ruocco — and a doctor performs the treatment rather than supervising from another room.

The value of that shows up in the awkward cases. Tattoos that have been reworked, pieces sitting over old scar tissue, ink placed close to the eye or on the hands where the skin behaves differently, patients on medications that change how skin reacts to light. Each of those calls for judgment, and judgment is the thing a preset cannot supply.

It also means the answer at the consultation is allowed to be no. If a particular piece is unlikely to clear completely, or if the skin needs to be left alone for a while first, you will hear that up front rather than after paying for a package.

Fading an Old Piece for a Cover-Up

Not everyone who calls wants their tattoo erased. A large share of the work we do is partial fading — lightening an existing piece enough that a tattoo artist can lay clean new linework over it without fighting the old ink underneath. Dark, heavily saturated work is the usual culprit, and no amount of skill on the artist's part will make a new design read clearly through it.

Fading takes far fewer sessions than complete removal, which makes it both faster and less expensive, and it is worth bringing your artist's proposed design to the consultation. Knowing what is going on top tells us how light the area actually needs to get, and stopping at the right point matters as much as starting.

  • Fading plans run considerably shorter than full removal
  • Bring your artist's design so we can judge how light to go
  • Coordination with your tattoo artist on timing and endpoint
  • Priced separately from complete-removal packages

The Shape of a Removal Plan

Your first visit is a free consultation with a physician, who looks at colour, density, age, placement and your own skin type before offering an estimate. Complete removal typically takes eight to twelve sessions spaced several weeks apart, and that spacing is not negotiable padding — it is the interval in which the body clears the pigment that was fragmented at the last visit.

The PicoWay picosecond laser works by delivering energy in pulses fast enough to break ink apart mechanically rather than by cooking the surrounding tissue. Appointments themselves are brief. Progress arrives gradually across the course, and it is normal to see obvious lightening well before the final session.

  • Free consultation with a physician before any commitment
  • Eight to twelve sessions typical for complete removal
  • Several weeks between visits so the skin recovers
  • PicoWay® picosecond technology, effective across ink colours

Pricing You Can Actually Plan Around

Rather than charging at each visit and letting the total creep, we quote complete removal as one flat package covering the entire course, priced individually by the size of the piece. That number is given to you at the free consultation, in full, before anything begins.

Financing is available if you would rather pay over time, and there are no fees introduced later. If fading for a cover-up is the goal, that is a different and smaller quote — and we will tell you which one your situation genuinely calls for.
